Plantation (Fla.) HS cornerback Sojourn Shelton is committed to Florida State and is set to fulfill a childhood dream. The 5’9, 160-pound prospect talked about his commitment to the ‘Noles.
“Real good,” said Shelton about his feelings towards FSU. “It has been my dream school since I was a kid in south Florida. My family was divided between Florida and Miami and the younger generation was on the Florida State side. So, I just grew up a Nole.”
While he is happy that he is a Florida State commit, he does have several concerns.
“My commitment is pretty solid, but I have concerns,” said Shelton. “Terrell Buckley left early and another DBs coach left. So, I have a couple concerns, but it is something I am sure me and the Florida State coaching staff can work out.”
So, is his recruitment over?
“I do plan to take all five of my visits,” said Shelton. “The only two schools I know for sure are UCF and South Carolina. Those are my two front runners behind Florida State.”
There is another in-state college that he has been in contact with, Miami.
“Al Golden has stopped by the school before and I have talked to him. I wouldn’t say they are on-me, on-me, but I have been in contact with the coaching staff before.”
Miami and Florida State are both having their spring game on April 14th, but Shelton will not be attending either one of them. “I couldn’t get up there (to Florida State) for Junior Day and I wanted to make it up there for the spring game, but I have to take my ACT on that day.”
